Accommodation in the Tynemouth area is available for seafarers, ex seafarers and/or their spouses and widows. We also consider applications from those who do not have any seafaring experience or contacts.

The Tyne Mariners’ Benevolent Institution is a registered charity. It owns a building known as Master Mariners Homes which is situated opposite Knott’s Flats not far from Tynemouth. The building is a handsome Grade II listed structure which comprises 31 self-contained and well looked after flats. It stands in attractive landscaped gardens and is a popular local residence.

Applications are invited for accommodation from those who are in need. We have some units which are available immediately.
